With its 2014 ‘Imagine-Believe-Achieve’ themed National Conference shaping up to be the biggest event in the company’s 14-year history, MTA – Mobile Travel Agents has further stoked the building excitement with the roll out of an impressive line-up of keynote speakers now confirmed for the 10-12 October event.
Presenters taking to the podium at the Park Hyatt Melbourne include ATAS general manager, Gary O’Riordan; Life Strategist Shannah Kennedy; Pitcher Partners managing partner, Nigel Fischer and Virtuoso executive general manager Australia, New Zealand and Asia, Michael Londregan.
Virtuoso chairman and chief executive, Matthew Upchurch will also address the more than 200 delegates attending the conference by video link from the organisation’s corporate headquarters in Fort Worth, Texas.
MTA brand ambassador since November 2011, sailing legend Jessica Watson OAM will also join the MTA team.
MTA CEO, Don Beattie said while the 2013 event’s business sessions focused on creative engagement and networking, the emphasis this year had been placed on further equipping the MTA Members with more practical hands-on skills designed to help them improve on their personal business activity.
These, he said, would include interactive professional development sessions highlighting business development, taxation/accounting procedures and also ways in which the Members can improve the processes and embrace the productivity technology MTA continues to roll out on a regular basis.
GDS workshops and a ‘Hear from your peers’ session have also been included in the conference program.
A busy schedule of business and networking sessions aside, conference high spots include a supplier partner event at the iconic MCG, and a Hollywood themed black tie Gala Awards Dinner.
Announcing the event in a joint letter of welcome to participants, the Merricks said the ‘Imagine Believe Achieve’ theme held great significance for everyone in the MTA family.
“As we have done in the past with our conferences in the Gold Coast and Canberra, the reason we chose Melbourne this year builds on our belief that as an Australian company our major events take place on home soil wherever possible.” the welcome letter read.
“The venue for this year’s national conference, Melbourne’s prestigious Park Hyatt, is one we feel truly reflects the very ethos on which MTA was founded 14 years ago – and that is, pure class.”
