MTA’s Don Beattie Appointed to Bellini/Belmond Travel Agency Advisory Board

In what represents major recognition for the MTA – Mobile Travel Agents brand both within Australia and overseas, CEO Don Beattie has become the first Australian travel agency representative to be appointed to the Belmond Travel Agency Advisory Board.

Announcing the news Belmond Executive Director, Worldwide Sales, Andrea Filippi said he was delighted with Mr Beattie’s decision to accept the role.

“It is with great pleasure that Belmond has invited Don Beattie to serve as one of the distinguished members of the Belmond Travel Agent Advisory Board for an initial two-year term,” Mr Filippi said.

“Don’s acceptance is truly appreciated and a tangible sign that with MTA we have picked the best possible candidate to fill the vacant seat on our advisory board.”

Mr Beattie will join his fellow board members in mid-September when he attends the next sitting of the Travel Agent Advisory Board taking place in Rangoon, Myanmar.

Mr Beattie said the invitation to join the Belmond Travel Agent Advisory Board was further recognition of MTA’s ability to deliver quality travel experiences through its travel experts in conjunction with luxury travel providers such as Belmond.

“We are delighted to have been asked to join,” he said.

“Gaining this recognition from such an internationally renowned organisation is firm acknowledgement of the respect and esteem with which MTA is held both within the Australia travel industry and overseas.

“This achievement not only represents a further enhancement of the relationship we have enjoyed with Belmond since being personally invited to join the organisation in 2012, it also emphasises the accruable benefits for everyone involved – MTA members and their clients alike – which are beyond exceptional.”

Launched in 2003 the Belmond Travel Agent Advisory Board has been instrumental in helping its members navigate complicated global distribution channels in addition to taking the opportunity to listen and learn from key partners as to how it can exceed clients’ expectations and develop mutual business opportunity.
