Hilton Worldwide has launched its “Be A Weekender” campaign in Australasia, urging consumers to make the most of their 48-hour weekends and experience the region’s spectrum of cosmopolitan cities, beaches, adventure activities and food and wine experiences.
Ashley Spencer, vice president, operations, Australasia said, “Be A Weekender is all about inspiring short stays in our own backyard, and enjoying the great culinary experiences this region has to offer. It provides leisure guests with the perfect excuse to leverage weekends and embark on their next adventure through a well-deserved, short break.”
The “Be A Weekender” campaign focuses on promoting short urban stays and regional experiences within key destinations in Australia, New Zealand and the South Pacific. The campaign will promote special packages for everything from family mid-winter escapes in Hilton Surfers Paradise, couples’ breaks to explore Melbourne’s art and design scene, and Hilton Queenstown weekenders for thrill-seekers.
Also focusing on culinary travel, the campaign will feature a number of exceptional food experiences in cities such as Sydney, Melbourne and Adelaide where consumers can explore Australia’s world class culinary scene.
Earlier this year, Hilton Worldwide commissioned a survey of 2,700 leisure travellers across nine countries in Asia-Pacific. The survey revealed that for 36 percent of these travellers, food and drink is a determining factor in where they choose to travel. Specifically, the survey also highlighted how Australians rated Australia as their favourite culinary destination in Asia Pacific, followed by Thailand and Singapore.
The Be A Weekender campaign is running until December 31, 2014. All Hilton Hotels and Resorts and DoubleTree by Hilton branded hotels in Australia, New Zealand and the South Pacific are participating in the campaign. With locations in Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Surfers Paradise, Cairns, Adelaide, Perth, Darwin, Alice Springs, Auckland, Queenstown, Lake Taupo, Noumea, Fiji, Bora Bora and Moorea, there is a “Be A Weekender” stay for all.
