Sunrise Sets Sail Through America’s Deep South With APT

Australia’s favourite breakfast television show, Sunrise, will be heading to America’s Deep South this week, broadcasting live each day from the Mississippi.

Commencing on Monday 12 May, Sunrise Weather Presenter, Edwina Bartholomew, will host the special week-long broadcast, which has been created in close partnership with the trip’s sponsor, award-winning Australian luxury cruise operator, APT.

APT’s team of USA product experts have collaborated with Sunrise to provide in-depth destination knowledge, creating an exciting itinerary that illustrates the rich culture of one of America’s most historic regions.

Viewers will see Edwina as she showcases all the regional highlights, including broadcasts from Graceland, former home of Elvis Presley; the Vicksburg Military Museum; APT’s boutique paddle steamer, the Queen of the Mississippi; Oak Alley Plantation; and New Orleans.

Commenting on the partnership, APT’s General Manager Marketing and Sales, Debra Fox, said, “We are so excited to be hosting the Sunrise team on this exciting American adventure. The USA is enjoying a revival amongst Australian travellers who love the contrasts between its energetic cities, iconic attractions and stunning national parks. In the Deep South in particular, they love the music, the history and the southern American culture. By showcasing the best this region has to offer, alongside APT’s exciting range of travel styles, we’re hoping Edwina’s daily updates will encourage Australians to contact their local travel agents to find out more about travelling America’s Deep South for themselves.”

APT is also supporting the show with a competition which will run alongside the week-long Mississippi live broadcasts. One lucky viewer will have the chance to win a 13-day trip with APT for two people, including flights, worth almost $23,000. Entry is via the Sunrise website.
