Pride House London 2012

For the first time at a Summer Games, Pride House London will open its doors, marking a significant milestone for the global LGBT community. As one of the largest of 15 Olympic Houses being planned, this open-air venue will present a dynamic 18-day festival with live music and entertainment, televised broadcasts of the Games, art exhibitions, fashion shows, hospitality programs and much more. Set to open in Clapham Common from 26 July to 12 August, Pride House will become a premier attraction for visitors to the Olympic Games, providing the perfect setting for brand activations, and corporate events for sponsors and partners seeking to raise visibility and engage with an LGBT audience. Organizers are hoping to create a tourism pavilion for destinations interested in targeting Pride House visitors. We have begun to accept donations for our popular silent auction, which will take place online during the Annual Global Convention, 12-14 April in Florianopolis, Brazil. Flights still may seem to be quite full, but airline capacity continues to grow of the ninth consecutive month, according to the latest statistics from OAG. Airline capacity grew 5 percent this month, translating to a slightly larger capacity increase (6%) as the average available seats in February 2012 nudges towards 127 per aircraft versus 125 in the same period last year. US travel industry posts major employment gains in January

The U.S. travel industry, outpacing other sectors, saw significant employment gains in January, according to the U.S. Labor Department’s January 2012 employment numbers reported 3 February. “Today’s report offers a sign that the overall recovery, which has been stuck in low gear, is starting to accelerate, and confirms that the travel industry continues to outpace other sectors,” said David Huether, senior vice president of economics and research at the U.S. Travel Association.
