Almost a year since launching flights to Melbourne Royal Brunei Airlines has released plans to increase its services into the Australian city from four times weekly to daily.
Commencing 25 March this year, the carrier said it will operate daily flights between Melbourne and Brunei, departing Bandar Seri Begawan at 11.50am local time to arrive in Melbourne at 8.45pm and return from Melbourne departing at 12.25pm and arriving in Bandar Seri Begawan at 5.35pm.
Victoria’s Minister for Tourism and Major Events Louise Asher said extra services would help the city attract tourism and trade from South-East Asia, “one of Victoria’s fastest growing markets”.
“The burgeoning relationship between Victoria and Royal Brunei Airlines is going from strength to strength and I look forward to continuing this mutually beneficial relationship,” Ms Asher explained.
Royal Brunei also noted that the additional services would also help improve passenger connections and journeys to London, Dubai, Manila, Bangkok, Sabah and Sarawak. The carrier originally launched services to Melbourne on 29 March last year, using its B777 to service the route.
