Qantas’ low-cost subsidiary has announced it will axe its three times weekly service between Brisbane and Christchurch, almost seven years announcing flights on the route.
A Jetstar spokesperson told media that the decision was ushered in after experiencing lower than expected passenger numbers, Stuff reported.
"Unfortunately this route has not performed as we would have liked," the spokesperson explained.
The spokesperson continued, explaining that although the route would be terminated, the carrier was still keen to build its presence in New Zealand.
"We’re obviously still quite committed to the New Zealand market but as with any business you do chop and change around a bit.”The carrier first launched flights between Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane and the Gold Coast to Christchurch in 2005.
