P&O Cruises’ new cookbook, holidays, has been named Australia’s best travel-related cookbook in the annual Gourmand World Cookbook Awards.

The cookbook, launched in July this year, won the Australian division of the Gourmand Culinary Cookbook Award for travel and will represent P&O Cruises and Australia in the “Best in the World” competition at the Gourmand International Awards in Paris next year.

Sture Myrmell, Vice President of Hotel Operations for Carnival Australia, which operates P&O Cruises, said he was thrilled with the win.

“This award is a big pat on the back for everyone involved in producing such a high quality cookbook and a great endorsement of the fresh contemporary cuisine that P&O Cruises offers across its fleet,” he said.

“We produced the book so our passengers could take a taste of their holiday home with them but now we will have the opportunity to showcase our fantastic cruising cuisine to the world.”

The Gourmand World Cookbook Awards, a unique international competition in the culinary sector, honours and rewards the best food and wine books across the globe.

holidays features more than 60 delicious recipes from the Australian cruise line’s culinary team with recipes ranging from macadamia nut pancakes with mango and maple syrup to wagyu burgers and spatchcock with eggplant salad.
