First Oprah and now President Obama is making his way to Australia’s Northern Territory for an overnight visit next month.
Confirming his trip late last week, the White House told the Northern Territory Chief Minister Paul Henderson that the NT would be added to his itinerary down under.
Mr Henderson stressed that the visit to Darwin was purely optional, unlike his expected visit to Canberra.
“On behalf of all Territorians we welcome the news President Obama has added the Territory to his trip to Australia – ensuring he really will get an opportunity to see the real Australia,” Mr Henderson said.
“This is an historic visit and will be the first time any President of the US has made a visit to the Territory.“I look forward to announcing further details closer to the trip.”
