Enthusiasm remains high in Port Douglas today while finalists anxiously wait to find out which company will win Tourism Queensland’s Million Dollar Memo incentive prize.
With the announcement only hours away, the incentive campaign has attracted up to 118,000 clicks on milliondollarmemo.com, 2.4 million page views and generated over $14 million worth of publicity.
Receiving up to 291 entries after the Memo launched in March this year, the final 20 survived three stages of the competition including the Top 70 cut-backs, Top 20 cut-backs and have now travelled into Queensland for the final Incentive Challenge Event.
Finalists are made-up of larger and smaller companies from up to 11 countries including Australia, Taiwan, New Zealand, the US, the UK, China, India, Indonesia, Germany, Malaysia and Korea.
As part of the final phase, Incentive Challenge Event, remaining contestants were asked to select one employee to travel down under and experience all of Queensland’s offerings first-hand.
Kicking off in the Gold Coast on Wednesday last week, activities included swimming with Dolphins at Sea World, snorkelling the Great Barrier Reef, dining at some of Queensland’s best restaurants and sleeping in their finest beds.
As their eight-day tour of the state comes to an end, the winner of the $1 million prize will be announced later today, ending their visit in Port Douglas.
