Stephanie Buckland stepped into the position of Tourism Western Australia chief executive earlier this month after acting in the role since January last year.
Formerly the executive director of marketing at Tourism WA, the tourism Group’s board chairman Kate Lamont said Ms Buckland was “well qualified” and had demonstrated her capabilities during her term as Acting CEO.
Over the past year, Ms Buckland developed Tourism WA’s ‘Experience Extraordinary Western Australia’ brand as well as set up a three-year marketing agreement with Jetstar which contributed to a 60 percent increase in capacity into Perth from other major Australian cities.
“We are very lucky to have her,” Ms Lamont said.
“Stephanie is well regarded by our stakeholders in the tourism industry and has adopted a consultative approach to policy development.”
