Air NZ costly Dreamliner delays

New Zealand’s airline said it is being forced to pay for some upgrades on some of its older planes while waiting for its Boeing 787 Dreamliner delivery.

While the carrier’s general manager of international travel Ed Simms would not disclose the cost of upgrades he said the delay has been “frustrating” but worth the wait for a “revolutionary aircraft”, Newstalk ZB reported.

According to the news source, the airline has had its eight aircraft delayed further due to electrical problems.

The carrier’s bosses are currently in Seattle working on bringing home its new 777-300 ER.
