The Airport Development Group (ADG) produced record passenger numbers and increased revenue figures, as outlined in their 2009/2010 annual report.
“Considering the economic challenges being faced by the company, these results continue to impress,” he said.
Total revenue generated by ADG was AU$72.2 million, an increase of almost 10 percent on the previous year’s figures.
Company expenses had increased by 2 percent on the previous year.
Darwin International Airport received over AU$10 million in capital investment and Alice Springs Airport garnered AU$1.5 million in investment funds.
“Darwin International Airport will have a capital expenditure budget of more than AU$30 million [in 2010/2011] which will enable us to start the much needed expansion of the passenger terminal,” Mr Barlow said.
This year also heralded the opening of the very first Australian Solar Power Station at Alice Springs Airport.
ADG continued its focus on safety throughout the year.
“We reinforced our commitment with the rollout of a new campaign, SAFE – Safe Airport for Everyone.“The Board remains committed to providing these strong financial returns to our shareholders by operating a safe and responsible business, keeping our costs down and providing excellent service to all our customers,” Mr Barlow said.
